One of the funniest types of Spanish language idioms are the ones that uses similes or comparisons. The Wikipedia definition of a simile is “a figure of speech that directly compares two things through some connective, usually like, as, than, or a verb such as resembles.”
The use of a nun or monja as a character is commonly used to construct Spanish similes. In many cases the same Spanish saying varies among countries. Here is an example that expresses the same idea of “pale white” in Chile and Puerto Rico. Check out these illustrations:

The illustration for the saying más blanco que poto de monja (above left) is from the Spanish slang phrasebook dictionary Speaking Chileno. Notice that it uses the Spanish word poto commonly used for “butt” in Chile. Compare that to the phrase más jincho que nalga de monja (above right) from the phrasebook Speaking Phrases Boricua which uses the Puerto Rican word jincho for pale white. Any way you say it, both means “whiter than a nun’s butt.”
